The Government of India has appointed a Committee of Group of Ministers( GOM) to look in to the affairs of BSNL/MTNL in response of to the request of the Communication Ministry. S/Shree P.Chidambaram, Kabil Sibal, Anand Sharma, Aswini Kumar and Narayana Swamy will be the members of the said Committee. The Committee may submit its report to the Government of India within 3 months. We have apprehension that the reduction of staffs as per the Recommendations of Sam Pitroda Committee, Disinvestment of Share, Merger of BSNL/MTNL and Bailout Package may be finalized by this Committee of Ministers. Hence it is at the most important for the unions to be united and vigilant so that if any anti worker decision is announced we shall fight against such moves immediately.
