As we are preparing to meet in our National Executive Committee meeting next week at Junagath. It is pertinent to think about our tasks. During the last verification NFTE-BSNL promised to the Employees atleast to get minimum Bonus for this year by changing THE FAULTY Bonus formula agreed upon by BSNLEU if NFTE-BSNL obtains the status of a recognized union. Now that the Festive/ Pooja season is fastly approaching we cannot keep silence over this crucial issue of Bonus as our rival union has started some sort of agitation and slated for a Day’s strike on 27/09/2013 for many issues including the Bonus. It is our bounded duty to get back the right to Bonus to our Employees which was denied to them for the last 3 years.
Eventhough the agreement signed on 12/06/2012 was faulty on many counts due to our persistent effort and unity we could get the implementation of 78.2% IDA merger with effect from 10/06/2013. However the management has betrayed the union/ Associations by not extending the same benefit to people who have retired since 01/01/2007. This is unacceptable and discriminatory. Atleast we should try to get the benefit extended to the Employees who have retired after 12/06/2012 when the agreement was signed. Further the stagnation among the Gr.D Employees is to be addressed immediately.
The financial position of the of the BSNL is not in very good position. Payment of salary/ GPF are not being paid on due dates. It is our duty to strengthen and protect the financial base of our company. It is our the financial base of our company. In this connection we have to oppose the resent hike off FDI up to 100% in telecom sector. This policy of Central Govt will surely encourage and help the Private telecom companies where as the BSNL/MTNL companies will face further difficulties.
The retrenchment policies in the form of VRS is always hanging over on our head. We cannot accept the wrong agreement of the Management/Govt that only by sending out more than a lakh workers BSNL can survive. We have to build broad based unity for facing the challenges and to protect the rights of our Employees. Job security, Govt Pension are the two important rights of our Employees on which no compromise is possible. Let us meet and decide to advance both our Union and the interest of the Employees.
