Mr. Dayanidhi Maran while acting as MOC&IT forced the BSNL, Chennai telephones to install 323 ISDN telephone connections to his Chennai residence without any valid reasons. He stealthy laid cables for 4 Kms from his residence to SUN TV head quarters at Anna Arivalayam in Teynampet, Thus he made available to SUN TV network all the 323 ISDN connections free of cost. The net loss calculated on this fraud is around Rs 440 crore. After his resignation from central cabinet due to family trouble in May 2007, The CBI investigated this fraud and submitted a report to Telecom Ministry on 10/09/2007 itself. But Mr. A.Raja who is also a DMK minister did not take any action on the CBI report since Maran brothers and Karunanidhi family patched up their differences NFTE-BSNL will hold a massive demonstration to demand the following.
The Prime Minister should drop Mr. Dayanidhi Maran from the cabinet since he abused power as Telecom Minister to favour his brother company.
Recovery of Rs 440 crore from SUN TV Network and compensate the loss for BSNL, Chennai telephones.
